Tales of Piecora 02 - The Haunted Fortress

Overview

Young Ravsese and her son Aurtor had finally escaped Muthan thraldom by crossing the Salt Sea while stowed away within the bilge of the Velenbrecker to Coast Haven, Kannoniah, but arriving in the densely sprawling coastal city was only the beginning of their troubles. Surrounded by unknown enemies, vile creatures and ancient intrigues long dormant until now, they are taken in by Velastrum Tapetius, or the Veiled Tapestry - the city's underground network who rescues migrant Unskavians fleeing from the tyranny of Muth seeking refuge within Coast Haven's damp streets and dark alleys. Quickly they learn that not only is it too dangerous in Coast Haven for the Unskavian mother and her son, but nowhere is safe in all of Kannoniah. Thus, Piecora Tiorold, the Sienjan Guide who happens to be in Coast Haven at the time, is hired by the Tapestry to escort Ravsese and Aurtor out of the country and lead them east through the Wildlands to their new home, Kiodanneth - a small frontier town that lies between Sienja and an old ruin named Edeotor. But from the beginning, nothing went as planned nor was anything what it seemed, and leaving the country was far more difficult than expected, leading to a high-adrenaline adventure into the Wildlands filled with intense action, incalculable odds, and death-defying heroism that nobody could have prepared for.
