Author Information

Lan Cook (Author) Lan joined Usborne after working as a bookseller. She absolutely loves learning about anything and everything. She has lived in China, attempted to create the perfect aquarium biotope, studied Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic at Cambridge University, and can hit an archery target from 100 feet away. Lan has always loved collecting knowledge and as many weird facts as possible, so working for Usborne really is a dream job! Rachel Firth (Author) Rachel spent 11 years studying and teaching philosophy at the universities of London and Oxford before joining Usborne. Since then she has written books on subjects ranging from knights, to food, to philosophy, as well as retelling folk stories, and writing children's versions of numerous novels. Andy Prentice (Author) Ever since he read the Spy's Guidebook when he was eight, Andy has wanted to write books for Usborne. He's very happy that he got to fulfill his dream. As well as writing books and stories for Usborne, Andy has published several fantasy novels about demons and dark magic. He likes playing board games and making up imaginary worlds. Sarah Hull (Author) Sarah grew up in London, then studied German and Fine Art in Oxford and Hamburg. She joined Usborne after working at Profile Books and Thames and Hudson, and now spends her time writing about art, investigating germs and devising ways for children to stave off boredom - all the important things, basically.
