Overview"Revelation has been misused by many church leaders to support and inflict harm in the name of Jesus. I believe that threatening ideology is a misinterpretation of the Scripture. This book goes through the book of Revelation verse by verse, drawing our attention to what it actually does and doesn't say. Jesus said in the Gospels that the primary commandment is to Love God, and equally to love each other, and that every scripture hinges on this guidance. We must remember the character of Jesus when reading any Scripture to make sure we're seeing it from that point of view. We'll notice as we go through the Scripture that God is not active in any of the scenes of havoc in the book of Revelation. They're all worded passively as, ""these things happened."" The depictions of havoc and mayhem describe the existing real world in poignant metaphorical language. God is not the instigator of any of the pain and suffering. God is calling our attention to it."
