Overview

This book responds to a resurgence of interest in the traditional service of Holy Communion and arose from people in one Methodist congregation who sought to more deeply know God and to be Christ's fellow servants. These members wanted to receive the Eucharist in its full, traditional form. Take Bread and Cup, Then Serve! is a collection of scriptures and sermons of a liturgical year. Demonstrating straightforward theology, the book is faithful to the Word and offers readers (as it did worshipers) an opportunity to find that Holy Communion offers a true way to a great life. In additional to being insightful and inspirational, the book is, in one sense, a guidebook for congregations and worshipers who choose to reconnect with the traditional communion liturgy. It includes the liturgy used by the congregation as well as scripture readings used during services.
