Taillights on the Road to Healing

Overview

Taillights on the Road to Healing is a deeply personal and universally resonant story of love, trauma, and resilience. Author Kenneth Burr recounts his transformation through transportation in this open-hearted, vulnerable memoir, traveling down the road to healing through faith and relationships. Years after adolescent sexual abuse, Ken grapples with his true identity. Through falling in love during a time of loss, building a family, and discovering the profound impacts of faith through his ministry, Ken learns that every road, no matter how many potholes, leads to an opportunity for new perspectives. Ken journeys to wholeness and self-acceptance through his Buick woody, rare 1950s convertibles, sexy sports cars, modified classic trucks, vans, and family road trips across America and Europe. For those who feel flattened by binary systems of faith and sexuality and fearful of choosing the road to new beginnings, Taillights offers air in the tires and a path to hope.
