OverviewA Christian systematic theologian should read widely, think deeply, and share ideas concerning the biblical meaning of Christian Faith (as do biblical theologians). But for systematics the decisive focus is on the normative significance of Christian faith for today, having taken account of insights from various disciplines, from biblical and historical theology in particular, and from the systematic theologies that one finds helpful. In its critical and constructive effort this volume is much indebted to the writings of a wide range of systematic and biblical theologians. Sometimes in the background but often in the foreground is biblical analysis and interpretation. This writing never just expounds the ideas of particular systematic or biblical theologians, but utilizes them where helpful for articulating Christian Faith. Table of ContentsReviews"""In Systematics Critical and Constructive 2, Dr. Ray interacts with theology at a level unprecedented in the contemporary disciplinary scene. Blending dimensions of Christian tradition and doctrine, devotional articulations and intellectual inquiry in a perfect balance, this volume charts new grounds for preaching and teaching theology. I recommend it to all who handle theology to stimulate faith that seeks deeper understanding."" --Julius Kithinji, St. Paul's University, Kenya ""In this second volume of his Systematics, Ronald Ray once again wields his pen in both critical and constructive directions. . . . On the critical side, the author argues that to believe the Christian message does not mean believing everything propounded as 'religious'--or taught in the name of Jesus Christ! . . . For those for whom constructive and critical thought remains a calling worthy of the gospel, this important work is highly recommended."" --James F. Kay, Princeton Theological Seminary, emeritus" """In Systematics Critical and Constructive 2, Dr. Ray interacts with theology at a level unprecedented in the contemporary disciplinary scene.
