Hamilton is a native of Scotland and earned a B.Sc. in Chemistry at The University of Edinburgh in 1986 before obtaining a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry in 1990 at the same institution under the supervision of Dr. Alan J. Welch, studying syntheses and structures of carboranes and metallacarboranes. Postdoctoral work with Sheldon G. Shore at The Ohio State University concentrated on new routes to non-oxide ceramic materials (principally BN and AlN) and also expanded his interest in cluster chemistry. Following a brief lectureship at the Ohio State University, Prof. Hamilton joined the faculty at The Ohio State University at Lima, where he teaches today. His interests remain in the general area of synthetic inorganic chemistry, and he continues to seek new applications and horizons for the chemistry of boron Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
