Author Information

Dr. Raymond Martin was an ordained pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and continues teaching as an Emeritus professor of Biblical and Intertestamental Studies at Wartburg Theological Seminary. He received his M.Div. from Wartburg Seminary in 1951 and his Th.M. in New Testament and Ph.D. in Old Testament from Princeton Theological Seminary. He did post-doctoral work in New Testament and related fields at Harvard Divinity School. He is the author of 16 books, various articles and has read scholarly papers at many meetings of the Society of Biblical Literature and the International Organization of Septuagint and Cognate studies in the United States and Europe. In addition to his continued teaching at Wartburg Seminary, Prof. Martin is a frequent leader of Adult Bible classes in various congregations. For many years he and his family were missionaries in India and after that Dr. Martin served at different time in India, New Guinea and Jamaica.
