Author Information

Valjean Wright, M.A., C.V.R., is a Reading, Writing, and Study Skills Specialist with Master's level degrees in Reading, English, and Vision Rehabilitation. With over forty years of combined experience in these fields, she has taught and tutored all levels of reading and English on the junior high, high school, technical school, and college level. She also worked for fifteen years as project coordinator on OSERS, NIDDR, and VA federal research grants, creating and testing instructional materials and standardized tests in reading and writing for special populations, including adults with low vision and students with disabilities. This volume was inspired by her desire to find more efficient and effective methods for improving the literacy skills of the many challenged readers she has worked with over the years.
