If you're a single mom or dad, struggling and feeling hopeless, this book will be exactly what you need to realize that this too shall pass and you have what it takes to succeed and fulfill your dreams just like Carrie does! This book will stay in my library for a very long time. It's inspiring and gives sound advice for reaching financial independence. I found Carrie to be so relatable! I like the message in this story, that you never know where a new relationship might lead. I'm excited to read the next installment in the series and see where Carrie goes with her education. I was immediately drawn in by the main character, Carrie. Her story of her struggle went much deeper than her financial distress as a newly single parent. Yet, my heart sank as I felt the pain alongside her character as she collected cans and bottles with her children in order to afford groceries. We all have had our low points in our lives, but Carrie's story, fictional or not in nature, gives me hope that even through my own struggles I too can face my demons and discover the strength within myself. I'm definitely recommending this book to a few of my friends. Real and relatable. More than just your average novel, this inspirational book is for any single mothers out there struggling financially or feeling hopeless. The book spoke to me on a personal level and made me think about my own life and various possibilities. I read it all in one day, and am now waiting impatiently for the next book in the series. This book rekindles your hope in the power of belief and positive thinking. When your attitude is right, solutions emerge on their own. The single mother with two kids and a truckload of issues comes out stronger, fiercer and better.

Author Information

Carmen Klassen is a new author with an old soul. After spending her whole life reading about inspiring women, she's finally launching her own fiction series. The Success on Her Terms series is the first group of stories about women who come from harsh pasts and create brilliant futures. Carmen comes from small-town British Columbia, Canada and has lived in California and Scotland before making her way back home. She enjoys scenic walks with her husband and rescue dog, a good cup of coffee, Mediterranean food, doing puzzles with her kids (when they are feeling especially generous with their time) and curling up with a good book on a rainy day (or a sunny day, or really any day).
