The author adopts a legal approach that encompasses the environmental, human rights, and WTO law aspects of waste trade. It explores the potential of the concept of “sustainable development” to integrate divergent regulatory approaches under the umbrella of the WTO in particular, and identifies crucial elements of a more comprehensive and sustainable solution for international waste trade.
