In his scientific works he pursues a research concept as to whether the requirements of a sustainable development can be connected to entrepreneurial decision routines. From 2008 until 2011 he served the University of Bremen as a Vice-rector for study affairs. Since 2009 he is a member of the working group for Sustainability in Higher Education Institutions, working on the integration of the UN-Sustainable Development Goals into research and teaching of universities.
