He completed his BS in Control Engineering (2012) and master’s degree in Energy Science and Technology (2014) at Istanbul Technical University, Turkey. Currently, Dr. Bicer is an associate professor of sustainable development in the College of Science and Engineering at Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Doha, Qatar. His research area focuses on renewable resources-based alternative and clean fuel production and utilization including hydrogen, ammonia and synthetic fuels. Prior to joining HBKU, he was a research and teaching assistant in the Department of Automotive, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the Ontario Tech University, Canada. His PhD thesis focused on photoelectrochemical-based hydrogen and ammonia production options. He also worked for more than two years at Istanbul Practical Gas and Energy Technologies Research Engineering Industrial Trade Inc. on the topics of natural gas and solar energy applications. Dr. Mohammed Al-Breiki received his PhD and master’s degree in Sustainable Energy from Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Doha, Qatar, specializing in sustainable energy carriers. He completed his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Washington State University, USA. Dr. Al-Breiki has authored numerous peer-reviewed research papers covering the production, storage, transportation, and utilization of various energy carriers, including hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, formic acid, and dimethyl ether considering environmental and economics perspectives. His research contributions have been prominently featured in leading scientific journals. Following his academic achievements, Dr. Al-Breiki joined the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC), where he supports manufacturing companies across the Gulf region in implementing sustainable practices and digital transformation strategies.
