Surrounded by family and friends who instilled in him the values of faith in God and the importance of hard work-where the simple rule was, ""if you don't work, you don't eat"" he credits these hard lessons for shaping the man he is today. Growing up with two older brothers, two younger brothers, and two younger sisters, George began his education at Glade Elementary in Jones County before his family returned to Mulberry, where he completed his schooling at Clara High School in the mid-80s.After finishing his education, he started out working as a flunky at a local sawmill. As he continued his work, he managed overtime to become a lumber grader while serving in his home-town National Guard where he had multiple deployments overseas. His first deployment was Desert Shield / Desert Storm which he talks about in his book entitled (""The Footprints of an American Soldier""). While on this journey of life George wrote several books such as.
