Surviving Through Betrayal

Overview

Rose Lyons had weathered the storm of World War II alongside her family, enduring hardships that left deep scars. The echoes of conflict had shaped her, and though she had emerged from the turmoil, the weight of her experiences lingered in her heart. Just when she thought she might never feel whole again, she met him a tall, striking Irishman with warm, expressive eyes and a smile that could light up the darkest days. In his presence, Rose found solace; he made her feel safe, cradled her wounded spirit, and filled her life with joy after leaving behind the chaos of her past. As they exchanged vows, she felt proud. She was now a devoted wife and her affection for him grew deeper each day. She confided in him about her history, sharing the scars of her experiences, and to her relief, he listened without judgment. His love for her was unwavering; they were two souls committed to carving out a new, beautiful life together. But just a few short years into their marriage, everything shifted. Shadows loomed where there once was light, stirring questions in Rose's mind. Who was this man she had given her heart to? The man who had promised her a future now seemed shrouded in mystery, and the comfort she had cherished began to slip away.

Author Information

Maureen was born in the old Nisson huts in Lydiard Park, England. She was one of six children raised in the 50's. Their lives were hard but not without love and laughter. Her brothers and sisters were special to her growing up; she feels grateful to have had them and has wonderful memories of times together. She married her husband Tony in 1969, and they had two children. In 1979, she and her family emigrated to the United States. Later, being blessed by having a third child, her family was complete. As a teacher, Maureen has taught for over 30 years. Now retired, she and her husband enjoy their growing family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. As time passes, writing is now her passion, as is her love of church ministry and being an avid cruise traveler.
