Author Information

Born and bred in The Bronx, Kenyatta Nesmith has lived a life that's much like New York City: endlessly eclectic. Marked with hardship and triumph, her story serves as a valuable reminder to others that they, too, can overcome adversity. The product of trauma faced in childhood, Kenyatta's former Panic Attack Disorder was a force that she battled for years, and the experience has continued to shape her path as an author, inspirational speaker, coach and Mental Health Ambassador. After studying management (with a focus in psychology) at both Berkeley and Pace University, Kenyatta launched 'So HollyWood Designs', a highly rewarding enterprise. As an artist and entrepreneur, she was satisfied...but nonetheless felt that her perspectives on well-being could better aid society. Much in homage to her mother, Loretta, who demonstrated great resilience through the course of her own personal struggles with mental health, Kenyatta now applies what she discovered as a daughter, academic and past-victim of anxiety. Using myriad platforms, her career has been dedicated to raising awareness about, dispelling stigma from and helping others to replicate her success in the fight against psychological paralysis. A true instructor is never done learning, and nothing has taught Kenyatta more than her own tribulations. Today, she's still in New York with her husband and children...grateful for all.
