Author Information

S.S. Bhavikatti studied at BVB College of Engineering and Technology for his BE (Civil) degree and obtainedthe degree from Karnatak University in 1963 securing 1st rank. He obtained ME(Stuct) degree fromUniversity of Roorkee (presently IIT Roorkee) in 1967 and PhD from IIT Delhi in 1977. He served NITKSurathkal in different positions like Head of Civil Engg. Dept.; Chairman, Centre for Continuing Education;Chairman, Central Computer Centre and Dean. He has also served SDM College of Engineering andTechnology, Dharwad; Rao bahadur Y. Mahabaleswarappa Engineering College, Bellary (formerly VijyanagarEngg. College) and B.V.B. College of Engg. & Technology, Hubli. He has published 64 technical papers in national and international journals and seminars and 54 books in civil engineering. He guided 72 candidates for M Tech thesis and 6 for PhD. He was a member oforganizing/scientific communities of international seminars organized by I.A.S.S. held at Taegue (SouthKorea) in 1990, Tokyo (Japan) in 1993 and Taipei (Taiwan) in 1997. He is a member of several Indian andinternational professional bodies.
