OverviewThis book offers a unique and comprehensive guide to the rapidly evolving field of cardiac surgery, emphasizing the shift from traditional open-heart techniques to minimally invasive and hybrid procedures. It is designed for cardiac surgeons, interventional cardiologists, residents and trainees who seek an in-depth understanding of both classical surgical methods and cutting-edge innovations in the treatment of structural heart diseases. The book fills an important gap by addressing not only the technical aspects of cardiac interventions but also the emerging trends in technology, such as robotic surgery, artificial intelligence and the use of advanced biomaterials. By integrating these advancements with established procedures, it offers a forward-looking perspective on how modern tools and techniques are shaping the future of cardiac surgery. Surgical, Hybrid and Minimally Invasive Structural Cardiac Interventions provides a particular focus on hybrid cardiac interventions, which combine the strengths of both surgical and catheter-based procedures. It covers a wide range of topics, from coronary artery bypass grafting and valve repair to the use of AI in personalized medicine and the development of new materials for cardiac prostheses.
