OverviewThe aim of this project was to observe and perform surface photometry on the galaxy NGC 2782, a type 1 Seyfert. Observations were taken over a four-day period in November 2018 at Observatoire de Haute-Provence, France. Aperture and differential photometry were performed to determine the surface brightness magnitude, ellipticity and position angle of this galaxy. The brightness magnitude, and PA of the galaxy were calculated in the V, B and R bands. Observations in the H and H were weak and not included in the results. The galaxy was found to diminish to B = 20 mag /arcsec2 at a semi-major axis length of 26.2 0.04 . This allowed the semi-minor axis length of 18.34 3.14 to be calculated. The dimensions of the galaxy were thus found to be 0.41 x103 pc 2.78x108 pc by 0.29 x103 pc 4.29x108 pc. The calculated inclination was 45.57 0.46 . The galaxy was found to be roughly spherical as was in the range 0.01 Full Product DetailsAuthor: Diarmuid ConnonPublisher: Independently Published Imprint: Independently Published Dimensions: Width: 15.20cm , Height: 0.40cm , Length: 22.90cm Weight: 0.113kg ISBN: 9781096291190ISBN 10: 1096291193 Pages: 68 Publication Date: 29 April 2019 Audience: General/trade , General Format: Paperback Publisher's Status: Active Availability: Available To Order We have confirmation that this item is in stock with the supplier.
