He gained experience in the steel industry working for a prestigious Italian company, specialized in the production of stainless steels and nickel alloys. At that time, he was involved in R&D, quality control and improvement, failure analysis, and revamping and design of new installations for production of new alloys. He has coordinated product development and industrialization projects for the Italian site of a German company operating in the sheet metal working field, with main focus on the home appliance industry. Subsequently, he started one of the Italian sites of a company operating in the field of mechanical design and engineering consulting. He received his Master degree in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Trento. He developed part of his research experience and skills at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility – ESRF (Grenoble, France) – and at the Diamond Light Source (Didcot, United Kingdom), focusing mainly on X-ray diffraction applied to inorganic materials characterization. Since shortly after graduation, he has been involved in academic teaching as teaching assistant in Materials Technology and Applied Chemistry at the University of Trento, and as lecturer and teaching assistant in Manufacturing Technology at the Free University of Bolzano. Since 2020, he has also been teaching at high schools on Manufacturing Technology and Applied Science and Technology. He has co-authored publications related to the processing of titanium alloys produced by additive manufacturing. Together with Stefano Gialanella, he is the author of the book Aerospace Alloys.
