The 89 papers contained in this volume cover all aspects of the development, production, behaviour and use of these most important superalloys. Much interest and activity continues on these superalloys which have been in existence and usage for many years. Together with its predecessors, this symposium volume reviews worldwide developments on the theory, technology and application of superalloys 718, 625 and 706. Coverage includes: electron metallurgy of alloy 718; solidification modelling of Nb-bearing superalloys; two-step forging of alloy 718; uniformity of properties in alloy 706 through control of forging and heat treatment; the influence of heat treatment on the mechanical behaviour of IN706; and high-temperature oxidation of a modified alloy 625.
