Overview

Centuries in the future, the population of a worn-out planet Earth trawls the cosmos for a new home, aided by the international space force known as the 4S. But all is not as peaceful as it seems, and even the most humanitarian organizations and the most innocent men and women have their secrets. The life of the unsuspecting young man Jax Nurmen is upended and forever altered when his parents are revealed to be 4S agents, then promptly murdered, and Jax himself is abducted by a trio of 4S operatives. The 4S's admiral sets him on a quest to gain closure for the loss of his parents. But will Jax discover a new purpose for himself along the way, or will he sink into his grief and rage? As he is invited to take his parents' place on a top-secret task force, Jax gains a glimpse into the very fabric of the universe itself and comes to the realization that some paths should remain untrodden, and some secrets should remain buried.
