When Augusta Richly wants something, she tantrums until her multi-billionaire father defers to her spoiled behavior and puts all his effort into giving her what she demands. In this case, Augusta wants dinosaurs to reappear over the skies and on the earth, just so she can see the havoc they will create. To fulfill his demanding daughter's wishes, Mr. Richly sends his personal assistant, Mr. Block, to seek out Malicia the Malignant, an evil-minded genius with a secret laboratory in the basement of the skyscraper where the Richlys reside. Aided by her four assistants, all of whom are mini-clones of Malicia, this evil scientist sets out to recreate the dinosaurs that Augusta so deeply desires. The end result is thirty Pterosaurs, two Triceratops, and a pair of Tyrannosauruses being hurled into the city where they immediately begin to wreak havoc. Only Super Potato can keep these prehistoric creatures at bay in a fight that lasts for more than thirty hours. In the end, the exhausted vegetable superhero is able to stave off the ancient foes and save the day. But Super Potato's victory is a near thing and, at book's end, the plucky hero is both triumphant and exhausted. The ninth in a series of Super Potato graphic novels, this book combines both wit and whimsy. The story of a superhero in potato form is just ridiculous enough to appeal and entertain the target audience. Told in a tongue-in-cheek manner, the story of Super Potato's fight to protect his city from creatures from the distant past is one that is filled with action and a comical tone that is appealing. The author, who also illustrated the book, slips in bits of humor and scientific facts that add an additional dimension to the story.
