OverviewAn American woman travels to Kosovo to study. She meets a Kosovar man and begins a relationship with him. An ethnic cleansing campaign carried out by Serbia disrupts their relationship and threatens to destroy the country and its people. NATO bombing attempts to stop the ethnic violence but causes collateral damage, including people close to the Kosovar man. He sets out on a path of revenge. An accident forces the American woman and the Kosovar man back together and they try to help each other with problems that confront them. Although the ethnic violence is a major part of the story, a favorable outcome results from the relationship between the two main characters. The story ends on a hopeful note.
