Overview

Ryan thought last summer at Mindart was rough. This one might kill him. Haunted by the chaos of last year, especially by what happened to Carol, present-day high schooler, Ryan returns to the interplanetary camp. He's not even sure he'll get to see his alien girlfriend. He is supposed to visit a peaceful planet for one day with his friends, but peace doesn't always last long. After a disastrous arrival, Ryan finds himself stranded-completely alone-on a backwater planet where slavery still exists and there is no one to trust. No rescue. No backup. No idea what he's doing.
