Dr. Worchel has a wide range of clinical experience working with individuals with mood disorders and suicidality in outpatient, inpatient, and psychiatric emergency room settings. During the past 8 years, Dr. Worchel has conducted research examining risk and protective factors across cultures related to mood disorders and suicidal behavior. Her research has also focused on the development of novel interventions aimed at improving treatment engagement and adherence among suicide attempters. As a principal investigator, Dr. Worchel has received funding for her research, including the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and the National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression (NARSAD).
