Overview

"This text covers the training of the horse to Grand Prix level in dressage and shows how this can benefit everyday riding and showjumping. It includes facts and ideas relating to the physical and mental abilities of the horse and explains how the rider can use this to advantage. The author explains the scientific basis of a ""horse language"" to which every horse should respond, as a result of which any horse should find it easy to do that which is required of him."

Author Information

Karin Blignault has had competition success in show jumping, horse trials and dressage. She competes in high level dressage, teaches riding and participates in equestrian seminars. Having studied occupational therapy, Karin took a diploma in the education of children with learning difficulties and then studied neuro-developmental therapy. Karin learned of the parallels between communication techniques and the facilitation of movement in disabled children, and the key concepts of classical equitation. Further exploration of these parallels, in which she combined her knowledge of anatomy and neurology with her equestrian expertise, led to her writing this book. She is also the author of Stretch Exercises for Your Horse.
