Overview

Malta, 1942, Lieutenant Mike Nicholson commands URSA, one of the 10th Submarine Flotilla's boats which has destroyed a million tons of war supplies shipped from Italy to Rommel's Afrika Korps in the Western Desert. When German Intelligence warns Berlin of the need for drastic measures to prevent the Mediterranean and Middle East being lost to them, the heat is turned up for the embattled flotilla. And Malta, on the brink of starvation, has vital convoys that must be brought in. But URSA is a lucky submarine, and Mike is the flotilla's top scorer. However, as he finds himself scheduled for one last patrol before departure for the UK, there's a superstition in the flotilla that 'last patrols' are all too often exactly that...
