Kendall Banning very capably and non-technically tells all that can be told about undersea fighters. Building from descriptions of the very earliest submarines, he takes his reader from chapter to chapter, explaining construction, apparatus, selections of submarines, rescue ships and chambers, and innumerable other phases of 'pigboats'. The author was assisted by the U.S. naval department as well as commanders of American submarine training schools.
