In the last four seasons in particular, professional women triathletes have been pacing each other to faster and faster finishing times. This book contains snapshots into what drives these athletes.Foreword by Ironman.com managing editor Kevin Mackinnon An extraordinary and inspirational reckoning of women's athletic excellence, Sub Nine is an excellent contribution to collections focusing on women's accomplishments in sports. - Midwest Book Review It's an interesting, well-researched read for someone who'd like to learn more about the background of triathlon - and how far women have come in racing. - Triathlete magazine

Author Information

Timothy Moore is a journalist. He has reported on global financial markets, companies, chief executives, central bankers and economists for more than two decades from Canada and Australia. Tim spent more than 12 years at Bloomberg News as both a reporter and then an editor. He began his career at United Press International and has spent the last five years working for The Australian Financial Review in Sydney and now Canada. His stories have been published in The New York Times, The Globe and Mail, International Herald Tribune and many other publications around the world. Tim is a regular contributor to Toronto-based Triathlon Magazine Canada, focusing on profiles of age group and pro athletes. The idea for this book came from a story he wrote for San Diego-based Triathlete magazine's June 2008 issue about the then pending assault on Paula Newby-Fraser's 1994 record of 8:50:53. The record was smashed weeks after the story was published.
