Reviews

'This book provides practical advice and a toolbox for anyone studying business and related subjects at university. Based on experience as both students and lecturers, it is realistic about how to avoid pitfalls, make more of your time and move towards a job that you really want.' -- Dr Martin Lockett 'Learners do not always realise that their secret to study success lies with well-developed learning skills and confidence in their application. For business and management students on their learner journey, this book provides an invaluable source of ideas and support.' -- Dr Jo Smedley 'Learning how to learn effectively is essential for success at University yet rarely do academic staff have the time, or sometimes the detailed knowledge, to help students develop the skills they need. Students who have been successful prior to university can find it difficult to adapt to new ways of working and novel tasks such as lectures and seminars and techniques such as note-taking, reading texts and referencing. This useful and accessible book, written from the tutor and student perspective, provides grounded examples and helpful strategies. Although these are set within the context of Business and Management they will be of relevance to many discipline areas.' -- Dr Mark Atlay 'I am delighted that we now have an up-to-date and relevant study skills book to recommend to Business and Management students starting on their HE journey. For far too long we have had to rely on material that is either not particularly relevant, or is written in styles that are either patronising or cloaked in language that is pretty incomprehensible to first-year undergraduates. I really like the real life experience inclusions and feel many students will find them both valuable and reassuring. I will have no hesitation in recommending this to RDBS Business and Management students' -- Dr Phil Clark 20131206
