Overview

Areas & Volumes represents the second volume of the Storybook Math series. Each volume addresses subjects that are common stumbling blocks for many children. As such, I present the material in a manner that should be much more enjoyable for your children or students.Each volume has numerous short stories, with each story highlighting a specific concept. Within each story, I placed a special emphasis on pronouncing all the terms and equations over and over. Otherwise, it's all too easy for a student to skip right over the equation if they don't know how to pronounce it.Not only that, I integrate the math or technical concepts directly into the stories, applying them in a meaningful way, making the learning process much more enjoyable and effective for your children or students. The stories are augmented with a powerful, embedded mini-curriculum that has lots of colorful graphics. This Areas & Volumes volume is for ages 9 through adult. All volumes have at least one feature story and within this volume that story is Deep Sea Ice Fishing. The non-feature stories are like the filler songs on an album, but they serve a very important part of the overall curriculum associated with each volume in the Storybook Math series.The feature stories will also be available in the near-future as standalone picture books, with even more illustrations, allowing even younger children to get an easy head start with their studies.At the back of the book, all the answers are provided in an organized way for easy access. If your children or students currently struggle with math, simply reading the stories without the curriculum is just fine. As their confidence begins to grow, then they can tackle the curriculum. The stories and curriculum can be very beneficial for homeschooling parents as well, or for parents needing a tidbit of help when assisting their children with their homework. I hope you like it.
