Overview

Robert Denton grew up in small mining towns of the Mojave desert, himself the son of a small town doctor. Following his father's footsteps, he attended medical school at Northwestern in Chicago, where he met and married Betty Spaeth. He and Betty then moved to Bishop, California, a small town in a wild setting between the fourteen thousand foot mountains of the Sierra and White mountain ranges, where Bob established himself as a country doctor for fifty-seven years. Dr. Denton is an accomplished story teller, and in this anecdotal autobiography he recounts fascinating tales stretching from his father's experiences growing up on a farm at the turn of the twentieth century to his own many adventures as a country doctor in the Eastern Sierra.
