Stories from the war on Gaza by Ruwaida Amer is a collection of 23 news reports between October 2023 and July 2025 with an introduction by Palaver books editors Paul Komesaroff and Sally Gardner. The stories are reprinted with permission from various news outlets including +972 magazine, Al Jazeera, The Electronic Intifada, abc News International, Slate magazine and Middle East Eye (MEE). Author, Ruwaida Amer, is a young Palestinian from a family displaced to Gaza at the time of the Nakba and Israel's establishment. Through interviews and conversations with Gazans she records and bears witness to daily life under the devastating conditions imposed by Israel as the current invasion intensifies, pauses and resumes with every more ferocity until starvation and cessation of other life support systems take hold. The book is an archive of a people's attempts to live on despite merciless brutality.
