This set covers: Richard II, Henry IV parts 1 and 2, Henry V, Henry VI parts 1, 2, and 3, and Richard III. These are read by an outstanding cast of English classical actors, and introduced by Anton Lesser.

Engaging Elizabethan music opens this Shakespearean gem and occasionally reappears. The complex and volatile histories of Richard II and Henry IV come alive, thanks to the ensemble of actors led by Anton Lesser who portray the hatred between the two enemies and their followers. It's particularly compelling to hear brilliant and famous speeches from the eight plays, including 'A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse!' Background sounds amplify the fearful dreams and terrified awakening of Richard II, who imprisons the two young princes in the Tower of London. All sound real, as if listeners are bystanders. -- AudioFile
