Overview

This short story anthology contains a range of stories, on an assortment of topics in a variety of styles and abilities. Most of them stories by first-time writers who were writing as an assessment. The idea for this anthology, written by secondary students and staff at Gilson College, was borne from assessments completed in English or Literature classes. Year 8 students studied short stories in their first term and wrote their own story as their final assessment for the unit. Year 11 and 12 Literature students studied science fiction texts and produced their own sci-fi story in response. From this beginning the question was asked, ""why not compile all these stories into an anthology?"" This was opened up to any other student or staff member of the secondary school and this publication of 120+ stories is the result. These stories are the original works of the students and staff, with minimal stylistic interference.
