John Salzwedel has a way of cutting through the noise and delivering practical, inspiring advice that actually sticks. It's a quick, powerful read that leaves you feeling energized and ready to take action. If you're looking for a sign to stop settling and start living to your full potential, this book is it. Highly recommended! In his book ""Stop Leaving Life On The Table,"" author John Salzwedel establishes himself as a coach and guide for people on a path of self-discovery, goal setting, and dream fulfillment and does so from a place of humility, humor (often self-deprecating), and introspection. While other authors spend many more words telling the reader how to do the ""thing"" they are writing about, Salzwedel deftly guides the reader through exercises of thoughtfulness, self-reflection, and journaling, helping the engaged reader draft their own personal constitution as a foundation for additional tasks that grow out of each chapter. Salzwedel does not hide his Christian worldview, one that I happen to share, but he also parallels those principals with other belief systems in a refreshingly inclusive manner that does not disorient the reader or establish unnecessary barriers to one's own goals (dreams), whatever they may be. The book was a fast read, but was best consumed like a daily devotional or reflective so that the reader can effectively participate in the work, especially when you reach the ""meat"" of the book which is Salwedel's D.E.S.I.G.N. concept. While I found it helpful to complete the suggested activities in my personal journal, the book provided links to free worksheet downloads to help some readers engage in the material which is a nice bonus. Though the bookshelves are full of so called self-help books, Salzwedel's ""Stop Leaving Life On The Table"" differentiates itself through its raw, honest, and vulnerable perspectives on intentional living.
