OverviewFrom cavernous quarries carved by centuries of stone extraction to vibrant public spaces, Stone Voids tells the story of how architect Xu Tiantian and her studio DnA_Design and Architecture transformed the Huangyan stone quarries in Taizhou, China. Through her “architectural acupuncture” approach, she has returned 20,000 square meters of disused industrial land to the community, blending precise, minimal interventions with a deep engagement in local culture and ecology. Essays, interviews, and striking visuals capture a project that reactivates a once-forgotten landscape, turning it into a place for gathering, memory, and renewal—offering a powerful model for reimagining industrial heritage worldwide. With contributions by Philip Ursprung, Gemma Savio, Kewu Liao, Bruno Fayolle-Lussac, and a preface by Fabrizio Gallanti Showcases the latest rural revitalization project by the award-winning Chinese architect Xu Tiantian Brings together perspectives from design, history, ecology, and community Richly illustrated with photographs and drawings Full Product DetailsAuthor: arc en rêve centre d’architecturePublisher: JOVIS Verlag Imprint: JOVIS Verlag Weight: 0.500kg ISBN: 9783986123192ISBN 10: 3986123199 Pages: 208 Publication Date: 22 June 2026 Audience: Professional and scholarly , Professional & Vocational Format: Paperback Publisher's Status: Forthcoming Availability: In Print Limited stock is available.
