Table of ContentsReviews*from Amazon This book is informative and well written! - Kindle Customer The book is well written, and found the information engaging and very informative. Stoicism concepts are as relevant today as it was in the founding of the philosophy. Stoicism from its beginning can be in everyday life. My favorite idea from Stoicism philosophy is tempering our emotions with reason. The author is very knowledgeable on the subject matter, and I would recommend this book. Concise and practical - JK As someone who knows a bit about stoicism and its place among many of the more common philosophical models, I found this book to be a great primer on stoicism and useful refresher. The author does a fantastic job of delivering historical information in a very concise and matter-of-fact manner that avoids a lot of fluff. I really appreciated the brief, but on point biographies of several of the key thinkers / proponents of stoicism. Also, the simple and clear discussion points around the core tenets of stoicism were particularly useful. It's hard to overstate how important and useful it is to find a book that cuts out the fat and leaves just the simple underlying concepts intact. Overall, the book as a nice conversational tone to applies stoic ideas and concepts to everyday life and makes it all the more useful. Strongly recommended. Great writing on this important topic - Dr. Paul J. Young The author is very competent is presenting his case for this brand of stoicism. In this short work, he captures the essence and value of this kind of stoicism. His study reminds me of a book I am reading called The Best Of Basil The Great by a educational company called The Classics Cave. This kind of accent literature, like the book I am reviewing, can add a new depth to life, an understanding and richness that will make our lives more fulfilled and satisfying.
