I had the same self-confidence issues because being called ugly just becomes believable. Kelly has a way of inspiring people to see her real beauty. I remember having to line up and all hold hands cause we were going somewhere for class and only then realizing Kelly was different and from then on, trying to make sure I didn't end up beside Kelly so I wouldn't have to hold her hand, looking back I was definitely one of the kids who had fear of 'differences' and Kelly really was the first person I'd encountered who was burnt (breaks my heart writing this). My Dad was friends with Kelly's dad and it was only until my dad told me what had happened did I realize Kelly was just a little girl like me who had a really bad accident with fire.
