Stay Here: On Love, Loss, and Remaining

Overview

When the people you love are gone, the world urges you to move on. Grief asks you to stay. Stay Here: On Love, Loss, and Remaining by Karen Goldfinger Baker allows a compassionate opening as grief settles. With honesty and quiet attention, this collection of lyrical poetry reminds us that life exists after loss. Stay Here is a companion for the moments when nothing makes sense, when sorrow meets the everyday, and remembering brings presence. *** ""Stay Here is a rare kind of book-honest, spacious, and deeply human...These pages feel like quiet companionship for anyone who has loved and lost. A beautiful reminder that even in the ache, love remains."" -Jacob Nordby, author of The Creative Cure: How Finding and Freeing Your Inner Artist Can Heal Your Life ""Stay Here is brutally honest and exquisitely beautiful and reminds us of something most of us have forgotten: The capacity to stay is the capacity to love."" -Mark J. Silverman, author of The Rising Leader Handbook: Turning High Achievers into Effective Leaders ""Stay Here does not ask you to heal. We never do. It invites us to remember the colors that once filled the space in our broken hearts."" -Patti M. Hall, author of Loving Large: A Mother's Rare Disease Memoir

Reviews

"" A rare kind of book-honest, spacious, and deeply human. Karen Goldfinger Baker doesn't try to fix grief or package it into tidy lessons. Instead, she sits beside it and invites us to do the same. These pages feel like quiet companionship for anyone who has loved and lost. A beautiful reminder that even in the ache, love remains."" -Jacob Nordby, author of The Creative Cure: How Finding and Freeing Your Inner Artist Can Heal Your Life ""We spend so much of our lives trying to avoid or fix what we feel. Through the lens of grief, Karen Goldfinger Baker shows that healing doesn't come from moving on or toughing it out, but by being with what is."" -Mark J. Silverman, author of The Rising Leader Handbook: Turning High Achievers into Effective Leaders ""A gift... Karen Goldfinger Baker does not shy away from the visceral experience of loving and losing someone precious. She is able to translate the indescribable into the relatable. And, when we are on our knees, without words or even breath, she gives us something to hold onto."" -Rev. Rachel Hollander, author of From There to Here: An Insider's Guide to Navigating the Darkness ""Stay Here draws you in-a series of touching poems-so light upon the soul... it shakes and refreshes you with hope, compassion, and true help in a time that can feel helpless."" -Steve Chandler, author of Right Now: Mastering the Beauty of the Present Moment and Time Warrior ""We spend so much of our lives trying to move past what hurts. Stay Here interrupts that. Karen Goldfinger Baker invites a different relationship with grief-not avoidance, but presence. This book isn't just about loss. It's about being fully alive."" -Jason Goldberg, author of Prison Break: Vanquish the Victim, Own Your Obstacles, and Lead Your Life
