He also has Honours degrees in Law and Arts from the University of Adelaide, a Master of International Relations from Macquarie University, and an LLM from Cambridge. In the past he has been a legal practitioner in Australia and the senior associate to Professor James Crawford, in which capacity he worked on cases before the International Court of Justice. He lectures at the University of Sydney Law School and is co-director of the Sydney Centre for International Law.
