Starting from Somewhere, Stopping at Nothing: Musings on Being Human

Overview

Starting from Somewhere, Stopping at Nothing: Musings on Being HumanWhat does it mean to be fully, painfully, gloriously human? In this striking debut collection, Dr. Constantina Ann Clark dives fearlessly into the depths of the human experience: love and loss, resilience and surrender, justice and belonging. With a voice both fierce and tender, mystical and grounded, she draws from Celtic myth, contemplative wisdom, and the raw textures of everyday life to craft poems that feel timeless and urgently personal.Perfect for readers of Rumi, John O'Donohue, and Rainer Maria Rilke, and for anyone who has loved deeply, grieved honestly, or longed to make peace with what it means to be human. To read these poems is to feel less alone in being human.

Author Information

Dr. Constantina Ann Clark was a poet, educator, and lifelong student of philosophy, religion, and the human spirit. An award-winning poet honored with the Faulkner Award and the Dancing Poetry Award, she earned her PhD in Philosophy and Religion. In her own words, she was a ""humanoid"" living within a soul, always remaining, by her own joyful admission, something of a mystery to herself. A devoted wife of nearly 46 years to her husband Raymond and proud mother of nine, Constantina found deep joy in family, nature, travel, animals, literature, and thebeauty of the world. Her writing reflects her love of humanity, her spiritual curiosity, and her fearless honesty about life's joys and sorrows. Constantina passed away on May 4, 2023, after a courageous battle with AML leukemia.Starting from Somewhere, Stopping at Nothing is one of four poetry collections published posthumously, continuing a legacy of beauty, wisdom, and unflinching humanity.
