Stanton's Courage

Overview

The devastation that follows a once romantic relationship, where one of them dies or stops loving the other, normally results in the wreckage of the remaining. Or does it? This story started over a hundred and twenty years ago in a grimy little backroom of a mid-western two story house. A half dozen men sat around a table conspiring to overthrow the United States government by legal and illegal means. One of the men was a candidate for the highest elected office in our land. After the fifth time running for President of the United States, and being convicted of espionage, he died just after being discharged from prison. To some he is a hero, and to others a criminal. To me, he would have been a target. After running for office on the Democratic Party ticket, and a hundred years later the anti-Americans have gained a tremendous foothold in our government. They destroyed much of our economy, and opened our borders to more drug traffickers, terrorists, and criminals of all kinds creating organized chaos throughout the country. Then the applecart was turned upside down, and the Hidenbiden Administration lost governing power. In this story Russell Edward Stanton, and his select team of professionals, continue eliminating the existing threat of socialism/Marxism in the United States after the death of his wife. Then he realizes there is no end to the danger, and desires to lead a normal life. His only problem then is to figure out what's normal for him. This is a work of fiction.
