Stanley Spencer (1891-1959) is one of the outstanding painters of the twentieth century. Keith Bell teaches Art History at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada. He was curator of the major Royal Academy exhibition 'Stanley Spencer RA' in 1980.
