Reviews

“Stanislavsky and Mindfulness is a compelling antidote to screen-learning, digital isolation and the misconception that Stanislavsky's system is 'trauma-informed'. His commitment to well-being and communion is celebrated in this must-have volume by sincerely mindful practitioners and educators. What a joy!” Bella Merlin, actor and Distinguished Professor, University of California, Riverside “Integrating mindfulness into Stanislavsky’s System facilitates richer, more authentic performances. Whether you’re new to acting or needing a refresher Stanislavsky and Mindfulness brings together the knowledge of a diverse mix of practitioners allowing for a varied and thought-provoking read.” Golda Rosheuvel, NAACP and Screen Actors Guild Award-nominated actor “Human interaction, mindfulness and self-care are crucial to the wellbeing of actors in rehearsal, on set and in all areas of practice. Stanislavsky and Mindfulness addresses this and much more, comprehensively. It is essential reading.” Tom Goodman-Hill, Emmy Award-nominated actor “Breathe and mindfulness not only calms us, fosters our imagination and intuition but connects us to each other and the audience. Stanislavsky and Mindfulness is a powerful instrument and supplies us with oxygen in the pursuit of a shared experience.” Kate Fleetwood, Tony and Olivier Awards-nominated actor “Informative, thought-provoking and inspiring, Stanislavsky and Mindfulness is both a deep dive analysis and much-needed practical guide into Stanislavsky’s system and how through that we may hold actors and artists in training mindfully.” Lisa Spirling, Artistic Director, Theatre Royal Stratford East, London
