As a role model for children, honouring uniqueness fosters respect and kindness. 'Stand up for yourself, ' Brando Tells Dory is to teach the children something deeper: self-respect. A child with healthy self-worth can fight against many odds and grow into a responsible human being. That's what Dory did in this story. She stood against a group of girls by respectfully telling them that she was blamed for something she never did. It took courage and support for her to speak up.
