Overview

Within is the first full length biography of St. John of the Cross, based on methods of right historical criticism. Friar Bruno's study is a model of impartiality, and shows the author's filial piety combined, in the easiest and most natural fashion, with a perfect scientific serenity. The author has been able to throw light on some of the disputed points previously presented badly due to insufficient study. Much of the material used was found in the archives of the Carmelite Order.
