Author Information

Linda S. Day and MyLinda Butterworth are a mother-daughter team who for years worked together as tandem storytellers centering their lives around children's literature and entertaining children of all ages. While they now live in separate states that has not stopped their working together at anytime or place. Their goal has always been to entertain, inspire and encourage children to use their imagination and expand their reading and language skills. Linda S. Day (a.k.a. or affectionately known as Grandma) has been entertaining folks with her Magic Scissors(TM) for more years than she would like to say. Besides being a whiz with her scissors, she is the award winning author of Grandma's Magic Scissors(TM), a ForeWord Magazine Finalist, an honorable mention with the Independent Publisher's of America and a President's Book Award winner for Young Adult Non-Fiction from the Florida Publishers Association, There's a Frog on a Log in the Bog, Frogazoom! and a talented illustrator of dozens of books. When not illustrating, telling stories, or being a cut-up she spends time with her eight children, eighteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. MyLinda Butterworth (a.k.a. as Myndy) is the owner and Creative Director of Day to Day Enterprises an independent publishing house since 1997. She is the award-winning author of For Health's Sake: A Cancer Survivors Cookbook and The Monster Run. Other books to her credit are Just 24 Days Till Christmas and Frogazoom which she wrote with her mother. MyLinda is also a performing artist with Totally Stories (formerly StoryMasters) a storytelling team that tours schools and stages across the country. MyLinda has a BFA in theatre education and communications from Brigham Young University and graduate work in costuming from Arizona State University and has a Masters Degree in Storytelling from East Tennessee State University. She currently carries the title of Royal Player for the Kingdom of Atlantia with the The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) where she is known as Scholastica Joycors. When not writing, designing books or storytelling MyLinda can be found in the kitchen trying out new recipes (she is a real Mrs. Butterworth), in her sewing room creating new period garb, piecing a quilt or participating in historical re-enactments with the SCA. Apart from her professional life she likes her role as wife and mom to their two children best of all.
