Over the last two decades he has conducted extensive research in the areas of match analysis, training and recovery whilst serving as a performance consultant to elite clubs, national federations and key industry stakeholders. Dr Martin Littlewood is a Reader in Performance Psychology and Head of the Football Exchange at the Research Institute for Sport and Exercise Sciences at Liverpool John Moores University.
